Most audiophile headphones ask you to accept to their sound. écoute lets you shape yours. With the release of the écoute Tuning App for iOS and Android, your headset is no longer just a playback device—it’s a tunable instrument.

This isn’t EQ in the typical sense. The adjustments you make through the app are applied at the firmware level, directly to the signal path. There’s no added distortion, no artifacts, no post-processing smear—just precise, high-resolution tuning that honors the signal as much as it honors your preferences.

Why Tuning Matters

And because tuning is applied within the DSP before amplification, your adjustments retain full resolution and pass through the same analog chain—including the built-in vacuum tube preamp.

Getting Started

1. Connect your écoute headphones to your mobile device via Bluetooth.
   
2. Launch the écoute Tuning App.
3. Select your headset and navigate to "Frequency Response Curves."

The interface is intentionally simple. If you’ve used the Apple Weather app, you’ll find it familiar:

• Swipe left and right to navigate in Graph View; scroll up and down to navigate in List View.
  
• Tap the bottom-left icon to toggle between Graphic View and List View.
• In List View, you can browse all existing presets and delete custom ones (swipe right to delete).
• In Graphic View, you can make live adjustments and create up to five custom curves.
• Graphic View is also where you set the default curve for your headset.

Tips for Best Results

• Save your favorite voicing as the default preset to ensure your tuning is retained after power-off.
• The center line (0 dB) is the midpoint, not the baseline. You have up to ±12 dB of gain or cut per frequency band.
• Increase the Master Volume Limit to allow extra headroom for more dramatic tuning.
