The TH2 is the second generation of écoute audio's portable vacuum tube hi-fi system — the same proven architecture as the TH1, refined in every dimension.

Like the TH1, the TH2 is built with a complete hi-fi signal chain inside: a dual-core high-resolution DAC, a real vacuum tube preamp stage, and true dual-mono amplification — fully independent channels from DAC to driver. No other headphone has been built this way and no other headphone sounds like this.

Where conventional headphones eliminate key stages and components to save money and space by collapsing the entire chain into a single digital chip, the TH2 contains every stage of a full analog hi-fi system. A dual-core high-resolution DAC converts the digital signal. The real vacuum tube preamp shapes harmonic structure and microdynamic texture before amplification, just as in a reference-grade rack system. Two discrete amplifiers — left and right — complete the full dual-mono chain, keeping channels physically isolated from DAC to driver, eliminating inter-channel crosstalk and preserving the imaging and spatial depth of the recording.

The result is the sound of a full tube-based hi-fi system because architecturally, it is one. It's not just a portable headphone — it's a portable system. The same signal stages that define the sound of a serious home setup, in a headset you can take on the commute, to work, or on a flight.

The TH2 features a redesigned resonance chamber tuned for deeper bass and extended treble, improved tube stage shielding for a lower noise floor and better RF and microphonic isolation, and a refined ANC system with a more natural transparency mode. The solid aluminum billet chassis carries a hybrid suspension headband with three points of articulation, eliminating pressure points and providing stepless sizing adjustment for comfort across extended listening sessions.

Construction is modular. Ear pads and headband wraps are interchangeable, with a lambskin pad upgrade available. Available in three colorways: Charcoal, Nickel, and Gunmetal.

The TH2 connects via Bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC (24-bit/96kHz, Android), AAC (Apple), USB-C lossless digital, and 3.5mm analog (passive or active). Active noise cancellation and transparency modes. Custom tunable 8-band parametric DSP via the écoute Tuning App — curves written to headset firmware and persistent across all inputs.
